Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), one of the
country's premier scientific research institutions, is celebrating its golden jubilee in the year 2008. As a part of the golden
jubilee celebrations, Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Kochi has planned SCIENERGY-08 - an extensive one
day scientific interaction program for plus two students of selected schools in and around Ernakulam.
The vision of
SCIENERGY-08 is to ignite the minds of budding talents of the country to take up careers in science and technology and serve
the nation and its people for creating a better quality of life.
The mission of SCIENERGY-08 is to acquaint students
on role of youth in the advancement of science and technology in India and futuristic opportunities existing in the S&T
field. During the day-long program, students are provided a rare opportunity to know in detail the activities of Defence Research
& Development Organization (DRDO) and interact with real-life scientists through a panel discussion session. Competitions
are also organized to make the program interesting and lively.
